# How can I add a preliminary approver?

In Personizer, the process of a leave request can be customized by the admin determining if the requests do not require approval or if they need to be approved by a final approver. Additionally, one can add a preliminary approver to the process to include an additional filtering function.

||| Attention: Only users with administrator rights can assign a working time model. Find out how to assign authorizations [here](https://helpdesk.personizer.com/en/article/1gv4jgp/#3-create-user-roles-with-individual-rights).

1. Click on **Employees** in the left-hand navigation bar.

2. Search for the desired user (use the filter function if necessary) and click on the **three dots** in the right-hand column.

3. The **Edit user** option appears - click on it. A new window opens in which you can make the individual settings for the user.

4. Navigate to the **User Settings** section and click on **Approval**. Another window opens. Here you can view the settings for the approvals.

5. Click on the **Edit Pen** to make changes.

6. Edit the settings and then click on **Save.**
